All the classes have been planned and developed by a qualified Home Economist and Nutritionist. All cookery teachers hold an enhanced DBS, basic food hygiene certificate and 5 star food hygiene rating training. All teachers are passionate about home cooking and nutrition.
Class structure (2.5 -5yr olds)
Different themes can be applied to fit into nursery learning (for example eating 5 a day or food and our bodies).
Classes can be 30 mins for younger children or up to 1hr for older preschool children.
New recipe each week with a focus on a particular cooking skill to get children familiar with equipment and build their confidence with a particular skill. Recipes are nutritionally balanced, simple for young children to make and can be replicated at home.
Classes can include a food related activity such as drawing ingredients and talking about where foods come from or jigsaws as well as making a small food to try or take home.
Classes can be held at a nursery and doesn't need a cooker.
